Economic Enhancement Program

Objective: to promote and encourage economic opportunities for Aboriginal people. The program will assist with costs associated with business development. The program will provide income, training and technical support for individuals creating businesses.
Eligible Coordinators: For profit businesses, community organizations, First Nation Councils and individuals.
Duration: Projects may last up to but no longer than 30 weeks.
Eligible Financial Contributions:
- Employment Insurance while on project.
- Living allowance determined locally for EI exhaustees
- Living allowance determined locally for EI reachback clients
- Living allowance determined locally for EI ineligible clients
- Child care costs: Actual cost for registered daycare, child care rates for non-registered day care as per schedule
- Provides support costs for individuals to help develop their business plan
- Provides start-up costs as per schedule (yet to be designed)
